What's Up?

Good morning everyone!

What's up?

I have been a busy camper around here -

Thanksgiving we took my mom out to lunch.  We went up to Sebring and ate at the Village Inn.  What?

Well, actually we were going to go to the local Golden Corral, and decided to go at 1:00 - thinking that we would be later than the early guys and earlier than the later guys (does that make sense?).  Well, we were WRONG!  We picked mom up, went to the restaurant and people were lined up out the door.  If you know my darling hubs you know that we will not wait in a line - ever!  So, we had to go to plan B - we drove up to the only other "sit down" place in town and they aren't open (don't you love living in a small town).  So, off we went to Sebring - passing place after place that was closed.  I suggest the Village Inn - they are open all the time and I get the "look" - you all know what "the look" is don't you?  Well, to make a long story short, we pulled into the parking lot and walked in - were seated right away and served very quickly  - and the food was really good.  (Okay, Crystal, maybe not 5 star or even 4 star, but it was good).

We spent the rest of Thanksgiving day just hanging out at the house and watching football.

Friday and Saturday we were over at mom's by 8 to help her with her "big" garage sale.  Now, I have to say that she did have a lot of stuff and she even sold material.  For those of you that know my mom that is a very big deal, for those of you that don't - my mom could open a quilt shop and not have to buy any inventory - she has everything she would need in her sewing room!  Anyway, she had a lot more traffic than I thought she would on Friday, especially since it was Black Friday, and then the traffic was a lot less on Saturday.  She really had, what I consider, a good sale and now we are trying to get rid of the rest of the stuff that didn't sell.

Sunday I spent most of the day packing up the fall stuff and putting up all the Christmas decorations.  We have decided that we are not going to do a lot of decorating this year since we are in the "itty bitty" house.  I put up the tree, put a wreath on the front door, a few things on the porch, and a very simple table decoration.  That's it - very simple this year.

Yesterday started another week and we are keeping the little one.  She is growing so FAST - she is sitting up now with just a little support on her back. She is also spending much more time on her tummy.  She is flipping back and forth at will from her tummy to her back and starting to pull her  knees up - I don't thing it will be too much longer before she will be crawling.  I don't think it will be by Christmas but I don't think it will be long after that.

Tonight we are planning on a quick trip to Walmart for a few groceries - mostly fresh stuff (veggies, butter) and some soda.  I will admit that I have gotten hooked on root beer - I would much rather have root beer than Coke.  What I need to do is go back to drinking water all the time - not sure that is going to happen.  I do know that IF we go into town we have to be home by 8 - the finals of DWTS is on tonight!  (I know - but I have to have some vice)

Oh, I also started my Christmas shopping yesterday - I ordered the baby a couple of things and I did ALL of Dan's shopping - I still have quite a lot to buy, but I have no idea what to buy for people.  Gonna have to figure something out and pretty soon cause Christmas is not going to wait for me!

Well, I hope you all are having a fabulous week - I'll try and post some pictures of the decorations later in the week.

Hugs -

Carol

  1. Thanksgiving out is not all bad! Except no leftovers. But we were all so busy upon arrival home no one wanted to cook. Glad you found a nice place to eat. The baby is growing so fast! I can't believe it each time I see a new picture.

    1. Yes, I have missed the leftovers - they are always the best part of the meal (at least to me!). We can't believe how big the baby is getting - it seems like every week she is doing something new. It does make life interesting for sure (but always in the best of ways!).

  2. Good to hear that you had a nice Thanksgiving! I wouldn't be surprised if the little one does crawl by Christmas. All this decorations and the beautiful presents are a great incentive to get her going ;o)
I really have to get my boxes out tomorrow, for some reason I kept thinking I had an extra week until 1. Advent, silly me...
Hugs and an happy rest a the week,
    Sue

    1. Hi Sue - Isn't it amazing how Christmas just sorta sneaks up on us? I just haven't been in the mood to decorate much this year - I don't know if it is because we are in a rental and don't "own" our house this year or what - but it's okay. Sometimes it is nice not to get too carried away with the decorating. MAYBE I'll do some baking this year - time will tell.
      Hope your decorating goes well!

    2. I finally had the hubs bring up the boxes last night and started some decorating before going to work. We might bake some cookies this weekend, my oldest is participation with "Big Brothers-Big Sister" and promised his "little" to bake with him. And the daughter is coming home in 2 weeks, she loves baking, so that's nicer then just me doing it while the boys work...
      Have a wonderful weekend!
      Hugs,
      Sue

Where does time go?

I have really fallen off the blogging wagon I guess.  I can't seem to get a schedule down so I don't post - but it's been almost...
