I've been looking at posts and Pinterest of beautiful Spring and Easter decorations and I figured it was about time that I did something to welcome the new season.
Now, it really does not feel like Spring here in South Florida - more like the middle of summer but the calendar says Spring - so let's pretend the temperatures are in the 70's and not pushing 90 - okay???
I put this wreath together one night a couple of weeks ago and did not take the first picture, but it really was not hard to do.
I took a standard grapevine wreath from Walmart and a couple of sprigs of faux forsythia and about ten minutes later I had the wreath.
I didn't use my glue gun at all - just cut the sprigs off the main stalk and stuck them in the wreath.
Easy!
Last fall Mountain Man installed a hook on our metal front door to hang my fall wreath from - so, to get a wreath to hang in the correct place, I have to add ribbon and then the ribbon has to hang on the front of the door - thus the bow to cover the hook.
So, that is the extent of our Spring decorating.
I apologize that this is not a very extensive post - actually I have been at the hospital with my mom all week - two days and one night in Lakeland and then I come home for one night - then back for another two days and one night. (For some of you that don't know - that is a two hour drive one way.) The doctors still have not determined what is wrong but they are running some more tests tomorrow. Hopefully we will know more after they are completed. If not, I'll continue this crazy schedule next week.
Before I sign off for the weekend I did want to show you my new look. Two weeks ago I went to the beautician and went from
this
to this -
.
Can we say short?!?
So, what do you think????
Do you like the new "do" or do you think I really messed up?
I can say that, so far, it has been much easier to take care of and with my schedule this past week I'm really glad it's short!
(Please forgive the quality of the photo - Mountain Man is a lot of things but photographer is not one of them!)
Well, that's it for today - leave a comment and let me know what you think of the haircut.
In the meantime, I hope that you all have a fantastic weekend and I will "see" you Monday with the Monday Menu.
Hugs -
Carol

I like your new look, so fresh and cool for summer:)
ReplyDeletethanks so much Evelyn - it's been a God send this week - not having to worry about "my hair" with everything else that is going on! Thanks goodness the hospital has free wi-fi or I'd be going nuts this week - LOL!

Now you get to go swim everyday without a worry, and spike up your hair with gel in a whimsical moment, and all sorts of good things, easily! Enjoy the freedom of the short hairdo!
ReplyDeleteAwww - thanks Rose! Yep, Mountain Man and I are swimming almost every day - of course, I wasn't able to last week - but we were in the pool last night - so relaxing!

Hi Carol! Love the wreath! It's hard to believe it's so easy to make!
ReplyDeleteFun new 'do! I bet it takes you a fraction of the time in the shower. :) I've been growing mine out for a while, so I have the opposite problem.
Hi Miriam - I'm glad you like the wreath - and it was so very easy! Now for the hair, it is super easy to take care! Also I feel your pain trying to grow your hair out - I went through that too and then cut it all off again! I guess we are just not happy with whatever we have! LOL!

Forsythia and Spring, they just go together. Thanks for linking up to Motivated Monday at BeColorful.
ReplyDeleteLooks so good.
Have a great week
pam
Thanks Pam - I love Spring and you are so right - Forsythia and Spring are one and the same - now if I could only get Tulips and Daffodils to grow in South Florida I would be one happy girl!

Love the hair - am toying with the idea for my shoulder length hair - it's too long to stay out of my face and not long enough to tie it back. But my husband disagrees - so I may just have to sneak away and get it done.
ReplyDeleteLove the wreath - nothing says spring like forsythia - do they grow in Florida?
Hi Heather - I understand your pain with your hair - one of the main reason I had mine cut was I only wore my hair down one day a week then it was either in a ponytail or a banana clip - which was causing headaches! So, I decided this was stupid and cut it all off - much, much better (and I haven't had a headache since!).
DeleteNow, as far as forsythia growing in Florida - no, I'm sorry to say that it does not grow in south Florida - but it is MM favorite flower and we had forsythia when we lived in NC - so, I decided to do the wreath with faux forsythia to give him a little bit of spring. Glad you came by!

Carol, short hair ROCKS! I have been very tempted lately to go ahead and cut mine. I've had it short before and LOVED it. Also, your wreath is pretty - when Easter is over, my door will get a similar one...Happy Easter!
ReplyDeletethanks Rustown Mom - So far, I love my short hair - it is just so much easier to take care of and it is so much COOLER! (and when you talking about 90+ degree weather in April you need COOL!) Glad you like the wreath!

Your front door looks very welcoming with that pretty spring wreath. Thank you so much for coming to Your Cozy Home Party especially since you have so much going on in your life. I hope your mother feels better soon. I think your hair looks great. I vote to keep it short.-------Shannon
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the kind comments - I'm loving the hair cut and mom is doing okay.
